PY’s Youth Ambassadors raise awareness about PY, youth rights, youth empowerment to take actions on issues that they are passionate about, and support PY’s fundraising campaigns at local and international level.

Being a Youth Ambassador at PY opens up a world of opportunities to make change for young people and their rights. You communicate with decision makers and those affected by those decisions. You are trained and recognized as a leader, an advocate, but more importantly, as a force of change.”

The Role of Youth Ambassador

The Youth Ambassadors’ role is to inform young people about their rights, empower others to take action for youth, and run their own events in support of PY’s campaigns and projects. During 2015 – 2016, Ambassadors will work together and as individuals, with PY’s staff to:

  • Write blogs for PY
  • Contribute to the PY & Youth Ambassadors Facebook page
  • Give presentations in schools, colleges and to other groups
  • Appear in media
  • Support our campaigns and projects
  • Run their own activities

You will need to have initiative, be interested in learning more about Peace by Youth (PY) and our themes of work, be passionate about Youth’s rights, and be willing to get out there to talk about and take action on these issues. You will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and not be afraid to stand up in front of a crowd! Excellent time management skills and reliability are also crucial to ensure you can perform in this role.

Be prepared to commit to a two-year term as a Youth Ambassador (2019 and 2020).
