Introduction

Peace by Youth (PY) is delighted to announce our successful partnership with the Community Development Foundation (CDF), supported by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (Germany). This partnership was part of the Humanitarian Operation and Innovation Facility (HOIFA) initiative. Our collective mission focused on enhancing disaster management skills, contingency planning abilities within local communities, and the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in Jacobabad. This project significantly contributed to local resilience by implementing specialized training for Emergency Response Teams (ERTs), thus promoting safer and more prepared communities.

Peace by Youth (PY) has been instrumental as a technical partner alongside the Community Development Foundation (CDF) in a critical consultancy role. Our collaborative efforts were dedicated to the development of ERT Training Manual (English, Urdu and Sindhi) and training of Emergency Response Teams (ERTs) in essential areas such as First Aid, Search & Rescue, and Coordination and Networking. This partnership formed an integral part of the larger initiative titled “Strengthening Disaster Management Capacities of DDMA and Communities in Jacobabad.” The aim was to bolster local disaster management and response skills. This consultancy task undertaken by Peace by Youth (PY), funded by WHH, has been successfully completed, culminating in the submission of the final report.
