Our commitment
Mind Matters and Peace by Youth are committed to preventing exploitation, abuse, harassment, discrimination and avoidable harm. Every participant should be treated with dignity and respect.
Core safeguarding standards
- Obtain informed consent for participation, stories, photographs and media use.
- Obtain appropriate guardian consent and child assent when minors participate.
- Do not photograph confidential discussions, counselling or distress.
- Use the minimum personal information necessary.
- Store sensitive information securely and restrict access.
- Refer concerns to qualified services and responsible authorities when required.
- Never promise absolute secrecy when someone is at serious risk.
- Do not tolerate sexual exploitation, abuse, harassment or retaliation.
